Chasuble;, 16th century, Italy. Liturgical vestment church paraments, length 129 cm, width 97 cm back. Design: plant ornaments and flowers — a seven-leafed rose with a floral thistle flower; above the rose is a small crown and above that the same floral thistle motif. From the crown two intertwined floral branches branch down, creating a roof-like form; this motif repeats in horizontal rows. Trimmed with a narrow green ribbon; green cotton lining. Function: sacred art, liturgical vestment for churches and chapels. Repossession, A single large fabric panel laid flat with a pointed top and rounded bottom, showing a subtle raised floral and scroll damask pattern across its surface; the fabric appears primarily light green with slightly darker green raised motifs and gentle wrinkles and seams running vertically; the background behind the panel is a pale off-white.
