Lace fragment, lace strip finished with flat arched teeth on one side and straight on the other. In the divisions corresponding to the teeth are alternating flower calyx and rhombus motifs, separated by parenthetical geometric forms. 18th century, France. Materials: lace, fabric. Width 17.5 cm, length 308 cm., A strip of delicate openwork fabric with an intricate lace pattern in gold thread set against a gray background, showing a repeating scalloped lower edge with decorative curved and floral motifs, a diamond-shaped central lattice motif, fine netting between the embroidered elements, and a few loose threads along the top edge.
