Maniple, liturgical vestment, silk fabric with a fine pattern of stylised floral motifs between gold stripes; lined with linen. Crosses on gold galloon paddles. Fabric background in simple weave warp celadon, wefts blue, brocaded with silver metal thread with a loose braid on a white silk base. 18th century, Grodno, Poland. Length 83 cm, width 16 cm., A long narrow textile object with a wider rounded end, shown against a pale background; the fabric is green with a repeating decorative pattern in metallic gold forming vertical stripes and small floral-like motifs; there is a horizontal band of textured metallic trim near the wider end and another strip of metallic trim forming a short cross-like shape on the rounded section; the overall colors visible are green and gold with subtle variations in shading and a soft shadow beneath the object.
