Fragment of needle lace of the point d'Alençon type. Cream needle lace with a mesh background of twigs, leaves, stars, and rhombuses. 18th century, possibly France. Width 4.7 cm, length 73.5 cm., provenance includes Henryków Heinrichau., A narrow strip of delicate lace in off-white and cream tones stretches horizontally against a smooth grey background, featuring a fine hexagonal net ground with a scalloped upper edge and a straight lower edge, decorated with a scattering of small floral motifs and leaf-like loops made of thicker corded thread, showing a few irregular holes and worn areas in the net and some loose thread ends, with subtle shadows beneath the lace creating a slight sense of depth.
