Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: image of Madonna and Child. Reverse: small image of Madonna in oval. Double-sided, rectangular form; on one side a figure of Madonna and Child, with a crown on her head, in a long patterned robe decorated with various geometric and plant motifs; the Madonna holds the Child in her left hand and a sword in her right. The other side: a smaller figure of the Madonna in an oval, surrounded by rays, the whole surrounded by a laurel wreath. Materials/function: gingerbread mould; decorative art with religious motifs, folk motifs, iconography including Madonna and Child, crown, and sword. 19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Dimensions: height 25.8 cm; width 12 cm; depth 4.5 cm., A rectangular wooden board with a carved oval medallion near the lower center; the wood shows a warm brown color with darker brown carved areas and lighter brown worn patches, plus a few small holes and surface cracks near the top and bottom. The carved oval contains a stylized human figure surrounded by decorative triangular motifs and a braided border; the carved figure and motifs appear in darker brown against the lighter brown field. The board has visible grain patterns, a circular knot with radial cracks near the top, and overall surface wear with subtle scratches and uneven coloration including hints of tan and muted grayish-brown.
