Description: On one side a male figure in a high hat with a cane, wearing an outfit from the first half of the 19th century—frock coat, coat and checked trousers—with a dog at his feet standing on its hind legs. The other side shows a female figure wearing a decorative bonnet and a long patterned dress decorated with numerous ruffles and ribbons, holding a fan and a handbag in her right hand and a bunch of feathers, in her left. Under the legs of both figures is plant decoration. On the edge are carved decorative letters: ACL a. P, initials of the woodcarver or gingerbread maker, and the date 1842., A tall rectangular wooden panel carved in a warm brown tone features a relief of a woman in historical dress; she has a round face framed by layered hair or a headpiece with ruffled elements, a fitted bodice with a bow at the chest, tiered ruffled sleeves, and a full skirt decorated with a repeating floral-like pattern and bands of ornamental motifs, while one hand rests near her waist holding a small rectangular object and the other hand holds a fan; the panel shows carved base decoration with stylized leaves, and the background around the figure is the same brown wood with visible grain.
