Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: four images of human figures and plant motifs; Reverse: five images of infants of various sizes. Rectangular double-sided mould; one side: at the top a female figure in a long patterned dress with a low neckline, below a basket of flowers, below that a seated young naked man with long hair sitting among flowers and smoking a pipe, at the feet of the figure a skull with crossbones and the inscription MEMENTO MORI, and at the very bottom a wreath woven from leaves and flowers. The other side: five images of infants in patterned swaddling clothes. Gingerbread mould, decorative folk motifs, wreaths, female figures in rich dresses, Transience personification, floral decorations, allegorical representations, infants. 19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Form: rectangular; height 36.5 cm, width 8.8 cm, depth 1.5 cm., A long rectangular wooden board with a brown surface and a rounded top corner showing a small hole, set against a light gray background; the board bears several carved figures arranged vertically, including a faint carved outline of a standing human-like figure and multiple carved swaddled or wrapped doll-like figures with decorative patterns and circular head motifs, the carvings varying in depth and detail; the wood shows natural grain, scratches, and darker and lighter brown areas.
