Double-sided gingerbread mould. Side A: image of a bachelor; Side B: baby in swaddling clothes. Maker: unknown woodcarver or gingerbread maker. Double-sided, rectangular mould. On one side a man in a long wig and tricorn hat, wearing a costume probably dating from turn of 17th–18th centuries: justicorn with decorative cuffs, culottes, stockings, and high-heeled shoes; at his feet floral and geometric decorative motifs and the date 1827. Other side: baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with geometric and plant ornament. Inscription on the edge: FW FIEBIGER. a. BAUTZEN. 17 signature of the manufacturer and the beginning of the date. Date: 1827. Place: Bautzen, Silesia Prussia; 1742–1918. Materials/genre: form gingerbread mould; folk motifs, plant ornaments, floral decorations, historical costume, male figure, babies. Dimensions: height 64 cm, width 22.5 cm, depth 4.3 cm., A vertical rectangular dark gray object with worn edges and subtle scratches is centered against a smooth light gray background, showing a few small indentations and slightly lighter areas near the top and bottom edges.
