One side shows a man in a long wig and a tricorn hat, dressed in a costume probably dating from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries: justaucorps with decorative cuffs, culottes, stockings, and high-heeled shoes; at the figure's feet are decorative motifs of flowers and geometric elements and the date 1827. The other side depicts a baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with geometric and plant ornament. On the edge is an inscription: FW FIEBIGER. a. BAUTZEN. 17 signature of the manufacturer and the beginning of the date., wood gingerbread mould, folk motifs, plant ornaments, floral decorations, historical costumes; Silesia Prussia; 1742–1918 / Bautzen. Date: 1827. Function: form. Dimensions: height 64 cm, width 22.5 cm, depth 4.3 cm., A carved wooden panel shows a stylized wrapped figure with a rounded head and visible facial features, surrounded by a patterned ruff. The body is depicted as a tightly swaddled form with diagonal bands of carved floral and curving motifs, a tied bow near the lower portion, and a fan-like flared section at the bottom. The panel and carving are predominantly shades of brown with variations in tone; the background behind the panel is a light gray.
