Fabric fragment, fragments of silk fabric, patterned two-color damask, 1st half of the 18th century, France . Salmon-pink plain-woven background with pearly-blue decoration. Subornament formed by released warp thread in background color; in the pattern area the subornament drawing is not connected to the wefts by any weave. Pattern: winding lace ribbon subornament, large and small flowers on winding stems peonies or roses. Two warp colors: pink and blue; two weft colors: pink and blue. Piece height 55 cm report, another measurement given as height 74 cm, width 24 cm; edge 0.5 cm. Similar pattern appears in dress fabric no. SZT 2745 and fragments SZT 80, SZT 60. Materials: silk. Function: fabric fragment., A rectangular fabric panel with a floral woven pattern laid against a dark background, showing a repeating motif of large and small stylized flowers and leaves. The fabric is primarily light with a pale greenish or silvery ground and a coral to muted pink floral design, with some areas where the colors appear faded toward a beige or tan. There are a few darker spots and smudges in the center area and some irregular worn or frayed edges, especially at the right end where threads are visible. A small folded tab is attached near the left edge. The overall surface shows subtle variations in sheen and texture where the weave catches light.
