Fabric fragment, Patterned silk in a two-color damask type with a decoration of stylized leaves. Stripe weave structure, pale red accented with a white patterning weft. A type of unilateral two-color damask. Background — light red warp satin, overlaid with plain and liseré weaves, accented with a white weft tied in a weft weave; reverse side in a plain weave. The repeat is composed of small flowers, fanciful leaves, and miniature lace motifs forming an ornament on the leaves. The repeat dimensions are larger than the preserved fragment. Motifs in the bizarre fabric type inspired by lace. Fabric fragment no. SZT 78 is probably part of the same fabric. Hem width: 0.5 cm. Early 18th century, France. Height 53 cm, width 19 cm. Materials: silk. Classification: fabrics, fragments of patterned silk., A worn textile fragment with a decorative floral and paisley pattern sits against a dark background; the fabric shows frayed edges and loose threads and has a sheen that highlights its woven motifs. The textile displays shades of pinkish-peach and muted gold with areas where the colors blend into a lighter creamy tone, and there are small darker spots in places. The background behind the fragment is deep black, and the overall scene is flat with the fabric laid out to show both sides and the central seam.
