Background: light red/pink warp satin; overlays in plain and liseré weaves with a white weft tied in a weft weft-faced weave; reverse side in plain weave. Repeat rapport composed of small flowers, fanciful leaves, and miniature lace motifs forming an ornament on the leaves; motifs typical of bizarre fabrics inspired by lace. Another fragment likely part of the same fabric shows a pale red stripe with a white pattern weft. Subreport: plain weaves pink warp/pink weft and white weft weaves. Colors: pink background with white decorative patterning. Hem width: 0.4 cm. Rapport: length 64.5 cm; width 24.5 cm. Overall fabric height 73 cm, width 31 cm. Early 18th century, France., A rectangular piece of worn fabric with a faded floral and paisley woven pattern rests against a dark background; the textile shows frayed edges and several long horizontal tears and areas of threadbare thinning, with loose fibers along its top and sides. The woven design includes floral motifs, curved paisley shapes, and ornamental borders that repeat across the surface, and there are patches where the weave has distorted or been worn away. Visible colors include muted peachy-pink, pale rose, light beige, subtle gold, and small areas of darker brownish tones, set against a deep black background.
