Decoration executed with white weft in plain and grosgrain weave, featuring white stylized flowers and fragments of larger lace patterns on a cherry red background. 17th century, France. Fabrics; height 64 cm, width 22 cm., A single elongated fabric fragment with curved and straight edges lies against a dark background; the fabric shows an allover floral and ornamental woven pattern in shades of pink and lighter pink, with areas of deeper rose and pale blush creating the design; there are visible seams and stitched edges with some fraying and loose threads, and a narrow strip of contrasting patterned trim along one curved seam in darker pink and white; the dark background appears nearly black with a subtle central vertical seam.
