Background - satin with a warp cover blue warps not tied in the fabric structure; pattern - partially liseré with white threads - lace overlay; colorful motifs brocaded with wefts: green, celadon, light and dark pink, salmon and silver. Promotion: with a dark cherry weft. Symmetrical repeat the preserved fragment is only half of the piece - lace motifs with a fine pattern imitating tulle eyelets and small flower sprigs. 1st quarter of the 18th century, France; fabrics; height 32 cm, width 21 cm., A rectangular textile fragment with frayed edges laid on a dark background, showing an overall mauve to dusty pink ground with a woven floral and paisley-like pattern in lighter pink and pale silvery threads, and small accents of yellow, gold, orange, and deeper pink. The fabric surface shows a few areas of wear and loose threads, and scattered small floral motifs and leaf shapes integrated into the design. There are a few sewn-on small paper or fabric tags at the lower edge and one folded tag at the corner, but any writing on them is not described.
