Women's slippers by Wincenty Witoszynski, ca. 1840–1850. Shallow, flat women's slippers made of white silk. Symmetrical thin leather soles with straight-cut toes. Lining: front of white canvas, back of thin white leather. Inside an octagonal company label reads: Wincenty Witoszynski / in Warsaw / at Senatorska Street next to the Main Town Hall No. 463. Upper part is machine-sewn. Footwear; height 5.3 cm, width 5.3 cm, length 23.2 cm; Warsaw., A single worn ballet flat made of a shiny satin-like material rests on a plain background, showing frayed edges and areas of wear; the shoe appears light beige to off-white with slightly darker soiled patches, a satiny sheen on the toe area, and a matte textured rear section, with a thin brown sole visible underneath and subtle stitching along the seams.
