Women's slippers by Wincenty Witoszynski, ca. 1840–1850. Shallow, flat women's slippers made of white silk. Symmetrical thin leather soles with straight-cut toes. Lining: front of white canvas; back of thin white leather. Inside an octagonal company label: Wincenty Witoszynski / in Warsaw / at Senatorska Street next to the Main Town Hall No. 463. Upper part machine-sewn. Materials: silk, leather, canvas. Dimensions: height 5.3 cm; width 5.3 cm; length 23.2 cm., A pair of worn ballet pointe shoes seen from above, placed side by side on a neutral grey background; the shoes are a pale ivory to cream color with satin fabric showing creases and slight discoloration, the interiors appearing a bit darker with beige and tan tones, and there are visible areas where the fabric is frayed and stitched, along with a few straps of matching color looped inside.
