Rug with the Potocki and Mniszech coats of arms. A light central field surrounded by a wide three-band border; the widest band has a palmette motif. In the central field is an octagonal coat-of-arms cartouche: on the right the Pilawa coat of arms on a blue background, on the left the Konczyce coat of arms on a red background; above the cartouche a noble crown; behind the cartouche two crossed hetman's maces and also swords, pikes, banners, and cannon barrels. Below the cartouche are symmetrically arranged pairs of barrels and cauldrons, and two stacks of cannonballs. Possibly 1st half of the 18th century, Brody, Poland. Fabrics; height 209 cm, width 142 cm., A rectangular woven textile with a central cream field surrounded by a wide patterned border, featuring a central shield motif in red and blue topped by a gold crown and flanked by stylized banners in blue and tan; the cream field contains several floral rosette motifs in blue, tan, red, and green and pairs of symmetrical stylized plant-like forms in blue, green, and red, along with small scattered decorative shapes in blue and tan; the surrounding border is predominantly green with intricate geometric and floral patterns in blue, tan, red, and gold, including angular repeating motifs and stylized leaves and blossoms, and a narrow inner guard border with a diamond-like pattern in blue, tan, and red; the outermost edge has a thin red band and a short fringe in tan.
