Patterned, looped purple velvet with plant motifs. Report motifs: plant tendril made of small, fanciful floral twigs in asymmetrical arrangements creating a net pattern. Weave construction: grosgrain background with silk bold and linen weft in a natural color, purple silk warp; looped silk purple cover. Dense plant composition, finely curved twigs with a variety of leaves and flowers – very delicate and with a refined, segmented pattern. Arranged in rows, with a half-report shift and with the calyx of the dominant flower tilted alternately to the left or right in the rows. Design report length 24.7 x width 13.2 cm. Attributed to Justyna Boninska, 17th century, Italy. Fabrics, height 110 cm, width 18 cm., A rectangular fabric panel with a woven ground in light gray and a raised ornate floral and scroll pattern in deep purple, showing frayed edges and loose threads along the sides, visible vertical weave texture in the background, and the purple pattern forming interlocking stylized flowers, leaves, and curling tendrils across the surface.
