Habit à la française, Repossession provenance. Floral and plant motifs; embroidery. 18th century 1770s. Habit of green silk embroidered with small bouquets of flowers. Fitted at the top, widened at the back from the waist down with two slit pleats. Fastens at the front with hooks and eyes. Semicircularly cut lapels overlap at breast level and are cut off at the bottom. High standing collar. Long sleeves set in at elbow height, cut in an arc, finished with wide slightly protruding cuffs. Side pockets at hip level covered with trapezoidal flaps. Back cut with a center seam; slits at hip level. Center back flaps meet without a pleat. Embroidery runs in a wide band around the edges, cuffs, pockets, collar, and back pleats. Decorative buttons sewn in groups of three on the cuffs, under pocket flaps, two at the top of the back pleats, and in the pressed pleats. Silesia place of origin and France place of creation. Garment; length 112 cm., A side view of a long tailored coat displayed on a black form against a pale gray background, the coat made of a ribbed green fabric with a high collar and long sleeves; the front edge, cuffs, pocket area, and lower hem are decorated with floral embroidery in colors including pink, white, yellow, and green, and there are embroidered circular details on the cuff; the coat shows structured seams and a slightly curved silhouette.
