Habit à la française. Habit of pink cloth, embroidered with motifs imitating braiding, miniature bouquets and garlands. Fitted at the top, widened at the back from the waist down with two slit pleats. Straight-cut tails. Fastened at the front with hooks and eyes; along the edge of the right tail are ten embroidered buttons imitating a fastener. Similar buttons: three on the cuffs, under the pocket flaps, and two on the back, at the top of the pleats, and two inside them. Long, set-in, narrow sleeves, cut in an arc at elbow height, finished with cuffs. Low, stand-up collar. Edges decorated with embroidery. Buttons covered with fabric and embroidered. Embroidery with unspun silk yarn in white, blue, and green. Fustian lining. Hand-sewn. 2nd half of the 18th century. Silesia. Garment. Length 103 cm., Repossession provenance. Men's clothing; men's fashion; tailcoats; 18th century clothing., A long coat displayed on a black mannequin torso with a high collar, rendered in a reddish-brown fabric with decorative embroidery and trim; the coat features a row of round buttons down the front, matching button details on the cuffs, and flap pockets near the hips with embroidered embellishment; the inner lining visible at the front opening is a dark bluish-green, and the embroidery uses lighter tones including pale yellow and off-white; the background is a plain light neutral color.
