Fabric fragment, textiles, fragments of silk fabrics, patterned fabrics, brocades, net patterns. Brocade a two-warp, multi-thread fabric with a stripe structure in yellow background, dark red, and white pattern. The warp and the main weft shape intertwine in a satin weave. The binding warp binds the leading threads in a weft weave. Two drawn threads pass in a single course. Net composition. The pattern is created by two overlapping systems of white and red tendrils, creating net meshes in the form of pointed ovals. In the spaces between the intersecting systems of tendrils are woven palmettes, in places filled with a checkerboard of small ornaments. Report: 41.5 x width ? Colors: dark red cherry background, white, yellow, and silver drawn thread highlights. From a technical point of view, due to the use of a thick untwisted silk weft and due to the decorative motifs and the scale of the report, certain fabric fragments form one group and were probably created simultaneously and in the same area. E.O.-M., 16th century, Italy, fabrics, height 124 cm, width 25.5 cm, A worn textile fragment with an intricate repeating floral and scroll pattern in red, gold, and beige tones, showing areas of fraying and loose fibers along the edges and surface, with a dark background visible at the top and bottom.
