Vest, repossession provenance. Floral and plant ornaments on patterned brocaded silk fabric; predominant colors silver, plum, green, and raspberry. Front motifs arranged around the edges. Fastened with 12 buttons embroidered with gold threads. No collar. Side flaps with flapped pockets; three buttons under the flaps for closure. Back: bottom and sides patterned as on the front, but cut-out pieces plain without brocade. Cream silk lining. Dated 1740–1760. Likely England fabric? and Silesia origin. Garment; length 74 cm., A sleeveless waistcoat displayed on a black mannequin torso against a gray background, made of a light cream fabric with an allover embroidered floral pattern; the embroidery shows a repeating vertical arrangement of stylized leaves and clusters of flowers in shades of green, muted blue, soft purple, pale pink, and warm coral, with silvery gray foliage and highlights; the garment has a high collar, a central front opening with a row of round fabric-covered buttons, and pointed lower skirt panels that form a slight V shape at the front; the interior edging visible along the front opening appears darker, and the waistcoat hangs slightly open at the bottom, revealing a darker lining.
