Vest, Floral and plant ornaments on brocaded silk fabric. Predominant ornamental colors: silver, plum, green, and raspberry. Front with motifs arranged around the edges; fastened with 12 buttons embroidered with gold threads; no collar. Side flaps with flapped pockets, three buttons under the flaps as for the closure. Back: bottom and sides of fabric as on the front, cut-out pieces plain without brocade. Cream silk lining. 1740–1760, England fabric possibly from Silesia. Garment; length 74 cm., A sleeveless tailored garment laid flat, showing the back with a fitted waist and two flared skirt-like panels at the bottom; the fabric appears in shades of beige, cream, and light tan with visible stitching lines, seam edges, and small reinforcement patches; there are a few small puncture-like markings along the center back seam and several subtle creases and worn areas on the skirt panels; the shoulders have slightly darker beige patches and the interior lining visible at the bottom edge is a light off-white with traces of discoloration.
