Vest, floral and plant ornaments; patterned brocaded silk fabric front with motifs arranged around the edges; predominant ornamental colors: silver, plum, green, and raspberry; fastened with 12 buttons embroidered with gold thread; no collar; side flaps with flapped pockets and three buttons under the flaps for closure; back: bottom and sides of fabric like the front, but cut-out pieces plain without brocade; cream silk lining; garment vest, length 74 cm; dated 1740–1760; probable origins: England fabric? and Silesia., A sleeveless garment laid flat showing an outer patterned panel and an inner plain lining, with the outer fabric in a light cream color decorated with a vertical floral border featuring flowers and foliage in green, blue, purple, pink, red, and gray tones, and areas of gray scrollwork; the lining is predominantly off-white and beige with a brown inner facing strip, and the garment shows seams, folds, and the armhole opening against a neutral light gray background.
