Straight cut, without a collar; trapezoidally cut hems; low-set pockets covered with flaps. Fastened to the neck with 12 covered and embroidered buttons; identical buttons under the pocket flaps. Embroidery decorates the edges at the closure, the pocket flaps, and the flaps under the pockets. Small floral garlands and tied bundles of grass. Embroidery with satin stitch. Predominant colors: yellow, green, and dark purple. Laced back, silk lining. Fabric-covered and embroidered buttons. 1780s, Europe; Silesia. Garment; length 70 cm., A sleeveless, light beige silk garment laid flat against a pale gray background, showing a high neckline and an asymmetrical front opening with a row of covered buttons; the fabric has a subtle sheen with visible creases and seams, and ornate floral embroidery along the front opening and hem in shades of green, gold, brown, and muted purple, with small stitched floral motifs repeated on the pointed, flared lower panels.
