Dress with train, Ludwika Queen of Prussia; 1776–1810 — souvenirs. Dress of white muslin, high waist, with a train, embroidered. Deep-cut square neckline, cinched at the front with a drawstring. Three-quarter sleeves, gathered at the top, flared at the bottom, set-in. Skirt sewn to the bodice, narrow at the front, fuller at the back, with a long train. Front decorated with embroidery: between two rows of stylized flower baskets are small scatterings of polka dots. Sleeves feature embroidered inserts with smaller geometric patterns. Hem and train decorated with stylized flower baskets. Trains clothing, geometric ornaments, Empire style, basket with flowers ornament. Early 19th century, Silesia. Women's clothing. Length 131 cm front, length 230 cm back, circumference 408 cm hem., A pale off-white fabric with soft folds and a scalloped curved edge sits against a muted gray background; along the fabric's border there is a repeating raised floral and heart-like embroidered pattern in a matching off-white tone, with small clustered raised dots and leafy stitched motifs, and the textile shows subtle creases and a slightly translucent, lightweight texture.
