Church cope of silver brocade with Chinese motifs. Pretext sewn from two Polish fabrics: cream satin with a floral pattern and sky-blue satin with blue stripes, trimmed with galloon. Hood trimmed with fringe; silver buckle with a carp-scale motif. Skirt of silk lampas, woven with a blue silk weft and embellished with metal thread and silk yarn; background satin warp shows liseré decoration forming the overlay. Motifs symmetrically composed of large fanciful vases with Chinese figures topped by Chinese-style buildings forming a chalice; between these are birds and elements of Chinese architecture in a chinoiserie style. Metal brocade thread on a loosely braided, crimped white silk core; broidering threads: braided metal thread and orange, blue, white, yellow silk yarn. Measurements: height 51 × width approx. 77 cm report; skirt fabric/vestment length 128 × width 254 cm entry. France, early 18th century silk fabric for the skirt; overall 18th century liturgical vestment., A large semicircular fabric panel with a muted blue-green main body and a rectangular tan strip along the straight edge, showing a few vertical and diagonal seam lines and creases, small irregular stains and darker smudges scattered across the surface, and two short loop-like tabs of blue-green fabric extending from the tan strip near the top.
