Hood trimmed with fringe; silver buckle with a carp scale motif. Skirt made of silk fabric with a blue silk weft and embellished with metal thread and silk yarn. Background shows a satin warp pattern with liseré decoration lampas. Motifs symmetrically composed of large fanciful vases with Chinese figures topped by Chinese-style buildings forming a chalice; between them are birds and elements of Chinese architecture. Pattern includes elements reminiscent of lace designs. Metal brocade thread on a loosely braided, crimped white silk core; brooch threads: braided metal thread and orange, blue, white, and yellow silk yarn. Height 51 x width approx. 77 cm. Silk fabric for the skirt of a cope—early 18th century; liturgical vestment, length 128 cm, width 254 cm., A semicircular textile panel with a straight top edge and curved bottom edge, primarily in pale gold and beige tones with lighter blue-green decorative motifs woven across its surface; the top section includes a horizontal band of smooth pale beige fabric and two inset rectangular areas with pale blue-green and cream horizontal stripes; a shield-shaped appliqué of matching pale gold fabric bordered with a narrow gold trim and a fringe of darker brownish-gold hangs from the center; a pair of small tab-like extensions in mottled gold are attached along the top edge; the fabric shows subtle sheen, woven damask patterns, and areas of wear and creasing, with the overall color palette including cream, pale gold, beige, blue-green, and touches of darker gold-brown.
