Embroidered vellum, church paraments; flowers, leaves, plant ornaments; sacred art; churches and chapels furnishings. Velum made of blue silk satin, embroidered with silver thread. In the center, a rosette consisting of two ovals. In the corners, large, stylized, schematically treated bouquets of flowers, between which very simplified, smaller flower trees. For reinforcement, embroidered on beige woolen fabric. Lining detached. 2nd half of the 17th century, Poland; liturgical parament; height 52 cm, width 44 cm., A square piece of fabric with frayed edges laid flat on a pale background, predominantly light blue with metallic gold embroidery forming a central circular motif and repeating floral and looping decorative patterns toward the corners and edges; the blue cloth shows areas of wear and slight discoloration where the gold thread is denser, and the embroidery thread has a textured, raised appearance contrasting with the smoother fabric.
