A hood from a church cope. The cope hood is made of pale green velvet. In the center, two embroidered palmettes run parallel to each other, surrounded by plant-braided motifs, with a finer ornament embroidered with a single thread closer to the edges. The hood is trimmed with silver braid: wider at the top, narrow around the remaining edges. The edges are fringed. 18th century, Poland. Liturgical vestment. Height 53 cm, width 52 cm., A rectangular fabric panel with rounded lower corners, mostly light blue in color, bordered on three sides by a fringe made of coarse beige fibers; the blue fabric shows several faint creases and a few small darker spots, and the fringe appears uneven and slightly matted in places against a pale neutral background.
