Velum, revindication provenance, church paraments, Eucharistic Lamb iconography, churches and chapels furnishings, Church of St. Mary Magdalene Wroclaw ?, flowers, leaves, plant ornaments, sacred art. Velum or church cloth of white linen, embroidered with silk and gold thread. In the centre is a Lamb with a labarum and a chalice, into which blood spurts from its breast. Around the edges is an elaborate plant twig with motifs of grapes and flowers. In the central field, floral motifs are featured in the corners. Embroidery with pierced silk and metal thread, with cord and satin stitches. Some of the metal thread embroidery elements are made on a colored silk backing. The metal thread is a silver plate woven onto a silk or linen base. E. Soszko, 16th century, Silesia, liturgical vestment, height 63 cm, width 70 cm, A square piece of light-colored fabric with an ornate embroidered border featuring floral and vine motifs in pink and metallic gray, a central area with a small embroidered animal figure in metallic gray, several clusters of floral embroidery in metallic gray and pale gold around the center, and a rectangular patch of lighter fabric sewn near the lower center.
