Velum, Velum or church cloth of white linen, embroidered with silk and gold thread. In the centre is a Lamb with a labarum and a chalice, into which blood spurts from its breast. Around the edges is an elaborate plant twig with motifs of grapes and flowers. In the central field, floral motifs are featured in the corners. Embroidery with pierced silk and metal thread, with cord and satin stitches. Some metal thread embroidery elements are made on a colored silk backing. The metal thread is a silver plate woven onto a silk or linen base. Revindication, Church paraments; Eucharistic Lamb iconography; churches and chapels furnishings. 16th century, Silesia. Liturgical vestment. Height 63 cm, width 70 cm., A square piece of thin fabric laid flat with a pale off-white center and a decorative border, featuring a continuous floral and vine pattern in pink and muted gold tones around the edges; a darker small animal-shaped motif appears near the center in a grayish-brown color, and a rectangular patch of slightly different off-white fabric is stitched near the lower center; the overall background surrounding the fabric is a light lavender-gray, and the fabric shows subtle creases and folds across its surface.
