Kilim, Kilim, Podolia Ukraine origin; Poland cultural association. Decorative fabric for interior design, 1st half of the 19th century. Hand-stitched kilim with central field filled with rhombus motifs with stepped contours and slight overlapping in the center. Surrounded by a border of rectangle-like patterns with triangular notches on the longer sides. Geometric ornament. Colors: dirty gray, light blue and gray-blue, brown, ochre, brick red, with some navy blue and dark pink. Materials: fabrics. Height 141 cm; width 131 cm., A woven textile with a central field of zigzag and diamond motifs in muted beige, tan, light blue, pale gray, dark brown, and a small area of muted pink, surrounded by a geometric border of interlocking rectangular and plus-shaped motifs in beige, tan, blue, cream, and dark brown; the textile shows frayed edges and loose fringe at one end and variations in pile and wear across its surface.
