Colors: beige, cream, green, sky blue, ochre, and red. Post–mid-18th century. Possibly Beauvais or Aubusson origin. Height 71 cm, width 58 cm., A rectangular textile with a rounded top hangs against a pale gray background; it has a wide pink border and a central woven scene in faded beige, tan, green, blue, and pink tones. The top of the textile features draped curtain-like shapes in beige and pink with floral garlands in green and pale pink, and a round decorative element at the apex. Within the central area a small figure wearing pink and blue sits near a pedestal or column, surrounded by a landscape of grassy and leafy forms in muted greens and browns. Floral garlands and leafy motifs frame the inner scene along the sides and bottom in shades of green, pale pink, and beige, and the lower border is a solid pink area. The textile shows variations in color saturation and worn areas where the woven threads appear lighter or faded.
