Kilim, Court kilim, 2nd half of the 18th century 18th century, Poland. Woven decorative fabric, height 196 cm, width 392 cm. Court kilim with a central large basket on a decoratively multiplied ground containing flowers on long branches with flying insects. The basket is surrounded by four large flower bouquets placed diagonally. The edge forms a border of a tendril with deep bends created by intertwining flower sprigs. Colors: white, olive green, magenta, and blue. Subjects: floral patterns, basket with flowers, flower bouquets; function: interior furnishing., A rectangular textile with a cream background features an ornate embroidered border of winding vines and flowers in shades of green, muted red, pale blue, gray, and brown; the central area shows a woven basket motif with floral sprays above and flowing ribbon-like botanical branches on either side, the ribbons rendered in pink and muted red tones and the foliage in green, brown, blue, and gray; small scattered floral details and tiny insect-like shapes appear around the center; the textile has fringed edges and a narrow decorative trim along one side, and the overall palette is soft and faded with visible variations in cream and beige in the ground fabric.
