Fabric fragment, silk, Krzeszowice Lesser Poland Voivodeship, 18th century, possibly England. Fragment of white grosgrain silk with a small liseré sub-pattern and a colorful floral brocade in threads of white, light blue, blue, dark blue, dark pink, cherry red, apricot, and pale red. Sub-pattern: net-like with small motifs; composed of two intersecting winding ribbons of tiny blue flowers, one intersected by multi-tiered bouquets of various flowers in blue, plum, and yellow-green. Fabrics with preserved selvedge. Reported dimensions: height 33 cm other width, also recorded height 106 cm x width 27 cm., A rectangular piece of fabric with a pale cream background patterned with a repeating ogee-like chain of abstract shapes in muted blue, punctuated by scattered floral-like blotches in olive green, deep mauve, and dusty rose; the fabric shows a folded corner at one end and a few small crease lines and slight surface wear, with the pattern appearing slightly faded in places.
