Antependium, antependium; coats of arms; churches and chapels furnishings; carp scale ornament. Made of silver-plated silk fabric with a carp scale motif. At the lower edge in the center is an embroidered cartouche with the Korab coat of arms and a mitre. Above the cartouche is a bishop's hat; at the bottom the cartouche is framed by two branches. Sewn from multiple fabric fragments. Edges trimmed with silver braid. Late 18th century, Sluck possibly fabric origin, Poland. Material: fabric. Height 55 cm, width 97 cm., A rectangular textile laid flat with a repeating small scalloped scale pattern across its surface, bordered by a narrow woven trim. The fabric is primarily shades of gold and beige with slight variations in tone, and there are areas of darker gold and light brown discoloration. Near the top center there is an ornate decorative motif in a muted darker gold. The textile shows faint creases and slight wrinkles and a few subtle spots and stains. The background behind the textile is a pale neutral gray.
