Tapestry embroidered on canvas: in the center a basket with flowers, on the sides jugs with flowers and birds. Border with a twig motif. Coats of arms in the corners — top: Jastrzebiec and Korczak; bottom: Poraj Rola and Jelita. Black and brown background; flowers in blue, yellow, green, and red. Embroidery on rare linen canvas in cross stitch with woolen thread; each cross made of two warp threads and two weft threads. 18th century, Poland. Fabrics. Height 158 cm, width 354 cm., A large rectangular textile with a dark brown background fills the image, held at the edges by hands visible at the corners and bottom; the textile is richly embroidered with a repeating floral and foliate pattern in muted colors including beige, cream, pale blue, dusty pink, soft green, and pale yellow. The central field shows an arrangement of stylized flowers, leaves, scrolls, and curving stems, along with a few vase-like shapes and bird motifs, all rendered in the same muted palette. A wide decorative border runs along the left and right edges featuring winding vines, blossoms, and circular medallion elements, while a narrower horizontal border appears at the bottom with scrolling motifs and floral sprigs. The embroidered motifs display varied textures and dense stitching against the dark ground, and the textile hangs against a neutral background with clamp hardware visible at the top corners.
