Fragment of a chasuble column, embroidery, fragment of a larger textile object, vines, liturgical vestment. Triangular cutout and traces of ripped braids visible at the top. Two strips of red velvet sewn together, embroidered with large and smaller grape vines. Flat embroidery in blue and green silk thread and gold and silver metal thread. Ornament arrangement indicates the fabric derives from a larger piece. Reverse: wool embroidery on canvas with geometric and floral motifs in green, red, and black. 18th century, Poland. Fabrics; length 46 cm, width 18 cm., A rectangular woven textile with a patterned design featuring geometric motifs and floral-like roundels in a palette of red, green, beige, black, turquoise, blue, and touches of brown, edged with a red border; the central area shows large red diamond shapes on a beige background with black triangular accents, flanked by rows of turquoise bands containing small floral motifs in red, green, blue, beige, and brown, and larger circular medallions with concentric color blocks in black, red, green, blue, and beige at the sides; the weave texture is visible with areas of wear and small spots where the fibers show through, and a few paper tags are attached near one short edge.
