Two fragments of a dalmatic, front and back, of silk fabric interwoven with silver thread. Embroidered decoration of a floral tendril with tulips, bellflowers, pansies, carnations, daffodils, irises, and roses with species-accurate leaves, plus golden fantastic flowers with bent stems. Predominant colors: yellow several shades, blue, pink, red, green, and gold. Embroidery with metal thread gilded silver plate woven on a silk base and multicolored silk. Gold embroidery with a laid flat stitch, metal threads held with silk yarn. Silk embroidery with satin and split stitches. Fabric: silver lamé grosgrain interwoven with silver thread; gauge width: 50.5 cm, yellow-red selvedge; density: 17–18 weft threads per cm2, 14–15 warp threads per cm2. Embroidery dated to the 18th century; fabric dated to the 16th century. Place of origin: embroidery — Poland; fabric — Italy. Liturgical vestment. Dimensions: length 104.5 cm, width 87 cm., A flat garment laid out on a pale background, appearing sleeveless with a trapezoidal shape that widens toward the bottom; the fabric is light cream and slightly wrinkled with visible seams along the sides and neckline; there are a few metal grommets near the top edge and a small fabric tag near the lower edge; overall colors visible are cream, pale gray background, and small metallic accents at the grommets.
