Lace fragment, needle-stitched lace, highly elongated openwork ovals. Above the edge ornament, against a mesh background, a winding line interrupted by openwork circles; in the bends of the line, a rather large three-leafed branch projection. 18th century, France, width 3.5 cm, length 42.5 cm., Repossession, A long narrow strip of lace displayed horizontally against a gray background, the lace is off-white to cream in color with a fine netted ground and a scalloped lower edge; a decorative pattern of interconnected loops and braided lines runs along the length, with small floral and leaf motifs interspersed above the main border, and there are a few irregular holes and slight fraying along the top edge.
