Tablecloth. Embroidered tablecloth; white embroidery on white mesh with gold-thread accents in stitched stitches. Central motifs of small floral sprigs. Three edges feature motifs of trees and houses; the fourth, widest edge has a wide twig motif. Corners show four different floral or leafy sprigs. 18th century, Poland. Materials: fabrics. Dimensions: height 65 cm, width 66 cm., Function: church parament / sacred art church furnishings., A square piece of lace fabric lies flat against a pale gray background, showing an overall cream color with a few tan and brown embroidered accents at two corners. The lace has a scalloped border and an inner rectangular frame, both in cream, with a delicate netted pattern filling the central area. Scattered throughout the central field are several small floral motifs in cream, and larger floral and leafy designs appear near the edges and corners. The lower area features a denser arrangement of lace patterns with overlapping leaves and textured netting in cream, while two opposite corners contain darker tan and brown botanical embellishments. The fabric shows slight wrinkles and soft shadows where it folds on the gray surface.
