Church napkin possibly vellum? made of white linen batiste embroidered with multicoloured silk threads. In the center, in a circle surrounded by a wreath of large flowers, an inscription: TOC/ IEST ON CHLEB/ ZYWY. WOTY NIEBA/ ZTAPIEJ Y DAJE ZYWY/ WOT WWIATU/ RP 1686/14 KWIET. Along the edges are large flower sprigs, including irises. Edges trimmed with gold bobbin lace. Dominant colors: blue, pink, sand, and gold. Batiste: 22 warp and weft threads per meter. Double-sided flat embroidery, pierced, very fine stitches. Embroidery in silk yarn and threads with a metal braid in silver and gold on a silk base; flat and split stitches. Date: 1686, Poland. Materials: fabrics. Height 63 cm, width 86 cm., A rectangular piece of fabric with a pale cream background bordered by a textured metallic lace trim in a dull gold color; the fabric features a decorative floral design with a few stylized flowers and leaves in colors including muted green, soft yellow, dusty pink, teal blue, and warm tan, arranged around the edges and near the center; a circular floral motif appears toward the middle surrounded by small blossoms and leaves in matching colors; the textile shows some wrinkles, faint stains in brownish tones, and a few small holes; a small tan paper tag with a circular reinforcement is attached near one corner.
