Lace fragment, lace, plant ornaments. The lower edge is gently serrated with flat arches, bordered with a band of fine, bobbin-shaped teeth, looped onto the mesh. Ornament elements made with chain and bobbin-shaped techniques. Bobbin-shaped mesh, hand-made. 2nd half of the 19th century, Europe. Lace, width 26.5 cm, length 283 cm., A strip of delicate net fabric with an ornate scalloped edge is shown against a gray background; the net is a light cream color and features embroidered floral and leafy motifs in the same cream tone that form flowing, curling patterns, with a few small raised dots scattered across the surface; the scalloped border has a lace trim and the lower edge shows a narrow plain hem, while the background behind the net appears as a uniform medium gray.
