Fragment of lace, lace. A section of a belt sewn into a closed circle with one-sided arched serrations. Regular ornament: rosettes and points arranged in rows. Mid-19th century, possibly Flanders. Lace, width 7 cm, length 50 cm., A length of delicate lace fabric displayed against a neutral background, showing an open mesh pattern with a repeating floral motif and scalloped edge; the lace appears in off-white or cream tones while the background is a medium gray, and the fabric has slight folds and shadowing that create areas of lighter and darker cream.
