Background: fond chant, point de Tulle, point de Drochelle. 2nd half of the 18th century, Mechelen. Width 13.5 cm, length 64 cm., A delicate lace fabric fills the frame with an open hexagonal mesh background and ornate floral and scroll motifs worked in a slightly thicker thread; the lace is predominantly off-white or cream against a muted gray background, showing a few irregular edges and tiny loose fibers along the bottom, and the overall pattern includes several rounded shapes and looping decorative elements creating a repeating, airy design.
