Lace fragment, lace. Edge ornament on one side — a kind of net with numerous loops, small round and slightly larger oval ones, into which small twigs are woven. Above the edge ornament, against the netting background, in regular projections alternate: a twig and a round point. 18th–19th century, France. Materials: lace, fabric. Dimensions: width 8.5 cm, length 408 cm., A long strip of delicate lace ribbon arranged in a zigzag pattern across a flat surface, the ribbon showing a repeating floral and geometric embroidered pattern and scalloped edges; the lace is a pale off-white or cream color and the background is a muted gray.
