Motifs connected by spans with picots. Lower edge serrated in a wavy pattern with a motif of small palmettes; upper edge plain, unfinished. 17th–18th century, Venice. Lace, length 78 cm, width 6 cm., A narrow vertical strip of intricately patterned lace in off-white and cream tones runs down the center of the image against a dark gray rectangular background, with the lace showing a delicate openwork of loops, floral-like motifs, and scalloped edges; the surrounding outer border is a light beige that frames the darker rectangle.
