Colors on a cream grosgrain background with delicate floated subreport flowers: white, pale pink, orange rose, rusty red, celadon yellow, grass green, dark green, pale blue, blue. Border width 0.5 cm. Repeat: 39.5 x approx. 53 cm. 18th century, France. Overall dimensions: height 69 cm, width 53 cm., A worn rectangular piece of fabric with frayed edges lies against a dark background, showing a repeated floral and scroll motif in a faded palette; the base of the fabric is a creamy off-white with a few areas of discoloration, and the decorative sections are rendered in muted red, olive green, and dusky blue threads with visible brushing and pile texture, arranged symmetrically across the surface; outlines and ornamental curves are visible in a faint grayish tone, and there are several seams and patched areas where pieces of fabric overlap, with loose threads and irregular edges visible around the perimeter.
