Church cope, Cope made of embroidered silk fabric with linen backing and lining; the original silk backing has crumbled and the embroidery is preserved thanks to an underlying linen backing. Embroidered decoration completely fills the surface with a pattern of leafy tendrils and flowers roses, tulips, carnations. Silhouettes of birds—peacocks, parrots, turkeys, and others—adorn the branches. Edges trimmed with yellow silk braid; hood with preserved bows of pink silk ribbon. 18th century, Silesia. Liturgical vestment. Length 139 cm, width 287 cm., A large semicircular textile with a light cream background covered in an all-over floral and foliate pattern in pastel and muted colors; there are a few shades of pink, blue, green, yellow, and touches of purple and brown in the embroidered flowers, leaves, and curling vines. The fabric shows symmetrical swirling stems and clusters of blossoms and buds, with some small bird shapes worked into the design in green and yellow tones. At the top edge there is a narrow band of pale yellow trim and a short row of decorative bows in light pink. The textile is suspended between two vertical dark stands and part of a dark background and shelving is visible behind and beneath it.
